The Future of Self-Knowledge

Esoteric divination*, corporate forecasting and predictive genotype testing.
I believe these three worlds of futurism, if cross pollinated together, will create the future of self-knowledge.  This cabinet of curiousities brings together various instruments and methodologies that have been used to interpret and predict our future selves. From phrenology charts, pregnancy tests and chicken wishbones to DNA kits and radionic pendulums.

The next generation of self-knowledge tools will create potential dilemmas for the individual and their own destiny. Do we live for the now or invest in our future? One in three people in Wales believe cancer is down to fate and unrelated to lifestyle choices. So who is to be believed and whose interpretation would you value more to gain a sense of belonging and security?

By knowing our futures, who will it really affect? The life insurers, the investors, the fertility clinics or whether Jane decides to give up her public relations job and take her conservation sabbatical?  How far would you go to know your own future and what would you sacrifice and donate to those who claim to interpret your possible futures?

* the practice of foretelling future events by supernatural means.
